I'm Back!!!!!! With Happy Holiday Wishes!!!

Where have I been?!?!
This is the longest I have ever been away from my blog!
A lot going on in my life...
some not so good but mostly
lots of good.

I've wrestled with some health and employment issues
but let's not focus on that.
(I am certainly trying not to!)
I spent Thanksgiving in
New York City
with my daughter
who has been student teaching in Harlem for the past 4 months.
We had a wonderful time
and I'll share some of that visit in
the very near future.
Another trip to the city
a few days ago to move her back home.

Reconnected (happily!) with my
high school sweetheart
who has been visiting for the
last couple of weeks.
Also had a reunion with
my old band mates
(I sang in a rock band in high school)
some of whom I haven't seen in 41 years!

I managed to fit in a couple of lovely
Christmas swaps..
also to be shared in
the near future.

But for now dear friends
I'll share some glimpses of my holiday home
with my very best wishes
to each of you
for a blessed and happy
holiday season.

Let us keep Christmas,

holding it close to our hearts,

for it's meaning never ends

and it's spirit is the warmth and joy

of remembering friends.

New Swap: Winter Whites Ornament Exchange

A few years ago I participated in a blog swap
of elegant, white handmade ornaments.
That swap prompted me to purchase and display
yet one more Christmas tree
in my home...
this one dedicated to the
lovely handmade ornaments
received from my talented blogging friends.
It's time to add some new creations
to my favorite
little white tree.
I hope the members of my flickr group
(open to US and Canadian friends)
will welcome a change from altered matchboxes
and join in this
special holiday swap.

Here's a little winter white inspiration...
these are ornaments
I love to display each and every year.

Thanks for the Great (Broom) Ride!

Well my dear Halloweenphile friends,
another magical season is nearing an end
but not without
thanks to the many talented bloggers and swappers
who made it so much fun!

My feather tree
is decked out with handmade
ornaments and tags
of Halloweens' past and present.
I love each and every one you were kind
enough to share with me.
That fabulous coffin to the left of the tree
was made by
for a swap in the
Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group.

Also received in MAMA swaps this year
is the
beautiful bat winged young witch spoolie
made for me by sweet
&
the amazingly detailed tin
created by
my talented friend

No Halloween would be complete
without an altered matchbox swap and
is a partner who never fails to delight.
Aren't the box and
Halloween tophat divine?

And of course huge Halloween hugs
to the many bloggers who
hosted
parties, challenges and swaps.
 Links to their blogs
can be found at the top of my sidebar...
it's not too late to visit!

Our Queen of Halloween this year?

7 More Days.....

I must admit to feeling a little sad when it gets this close.
Creating for the Halloween season
is just so much fun!
It's difficult to pack it all away for another year.

I hosted our 3rd annual
 Halloween Matchbox Swap
in my flickr group
and as usual am blown away
by the talented members.
If you want to partake in some
really creative and diverse
Halloween eye candy,
you can visit

This is the box I altered for my partner...
and these are a few of the goodies I sent along with it.

We did an altered Altoids tin swap in the
Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group.
My contribution is this witchy winged Marie
riding in her Halloween coach.
I really do need to invest in a new camera
(or possibly photography lessons!)
as I'm always somewhat disappointed with the detail
I'm not capturing in these pieces.

Here are a couple of vintage postcards to
add to your Halloween image
collections.

In closing this post
I must give kudos to the
Mistress of Halloween,
for hosting
You've inspired us all
to embrace the season!

A Little Something Even the Non Halloween Lovers Can Appreciate

I realize not all of you are into
the creepy and ghoulie Halloween stuff....
so I'm sharing a coffin, lol!

Created for Melanie
in the
Coffin of Goodies Swap
in the
Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group.

(it really is a pretty coffin, honest.)

And of course it was packed with goodies!
