New Collaborative Book Swap & More for the Giveaway!
Carte de visites are those wonderful old photos, usually portraits, of the past. They were very popular in the late 1800's and I can understand why. Charming and small, they were mounted on heavy board to last for generations.
Some are so charming I simply collect them and keep them as they are. But others are just fun to play with.
Here's a perfectly lovely lady...
and here she is again, after my transformation.
Imagine a book of these wonderfully transformed ancestors!
That's exactly what we're going to do in my flickr group.
Here's some photos of a past collaborative I participated in.

Hope you'll join in the fun!
Cdvs are due May 11 so as not to interfere with Easter plans and I've listed some packs in my long-neglected etsy shop.
All of this cdv talk makes me want to add a couple to my giveaway! A couple of photos looks skimpy so I'll add some vintage trims and beads too.
The winner will be announced Wednesday or Thursday of this week.

Inside a French Easter Egg & the Giveaway Grows
Our most recent matchbox challenge in my flickr group was to create an Easter scene inside a large matchbox, much like the wonderful decorated sugar eggs of Easters past...
A peek at the corner of my box...
A view from above...
Close-up inside..
& the finished piece,
Mademoiselle & The Joyful Lapins.
I covered the matchbox with Warm & Natural, then layered it with vintage lace and seam binding. I added some gorgeous shabby flower trim, tulle, pearls and another delicate vintage lace trim around the opening.
The interior background is a copy of an antique French postcard. I didn't capture the entire picture well but if you look closely you can see the bunnies hanging over the top of the bench. In the foreground I placed some happy dancing bunnies and a teeny, tiny nest and eggs. I finished the piece by giving it "feet"-four tattered vintage pearls.
I made this for my friend Lynn of Trash To Treasure Art.
I hope you like it Lynn!
You know, I really do LOVE altering things so let's add some alterables to my blogiversary giveaway!
(You KNEW there had to be a matchbox in there!)
If you haven't entered already you can throw your hat in the ring HERE.

Join Me in My Blogiversary Celebration
One week from today is my 2 year blogiversary! And what's a blogiversary without a giveaway?
I want to share the things I love.. with you (and truth is we all pretty much love the same things). I'm simply going to keep choosing and adding items up to the anniversary date.
Today I'm in a kind of white, cream, dreamy mood so let's start with this...
Tucked inside this peat pot (that I've painted antique white) is some yummy vintage lace, crinkled seam binding, pearls, a gorgeous fabric flower with a rhinestone center, a really cool large seeded bead type embellishment and an oh so sweet frozen charlotte.
All you need to do is leave a comment on this post and you'll be entered to win. This giveaway is open to anyone who follows my blog, old or new. If you like you can grab my giveaway button for an extra chance. Feel free to check back to see what else I love to share but you only need to comment ONE time.
I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate each and every one of you. To have such dear friends, though none of us have ever met in person, seems unbelievable.
The inspiration, care and love shared in our blogisphere is very special and I'm so thankful to be a part of it.
I'll choose the winner on my blogiversary, March 28th.
Best of luck!

Luck O' The Irish..Our Very Own Pot O' Gold!
My friend Kim hosted a Luck O' The Irish ATC book over at my
Vintage Dragonfly Flickr Swap Group.
Initially she commented on what nice women I have in this group. And I do! Every single person is sweet and generous and helpful and inspirational.
As the atc's began rolling in Kim noticed something else....what a great group of artists are in this group!
Kim made the beautiful covers and assembled our books.

A Sweet Bunny & Nest of Eggs = Spring
Celebrating Spring is the theme for Kimberly's current atc swap. I was originally thinking birds and flowers but while scanning my images library, "somebunny" spoke to me.
Totally off topic.... My friend Paul has recently entered the world of blogging. Though not an artsy person per se, he is an eloquent wordsmith and knows more about cinema and celebrities than any person I know.
He has devoted his blog,
Pass the Popcorn Please,
(so far) to insightful and entertaining movie reviews. Please show him some blogger love and stop by to say hello!
