Empty Bowls, Full Hearts
Yesterday my friend, Karen, my daughter Chelsea, and I attended the Seventh Annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser here in Buffalo, NY. Local artists, art educators and elementary to college-aged students donate hundreds of handcrafted bowls, vessels, plates and vases. All are available for purchase with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the local Food Bank. Area restaurants donate homemade soups and breads so that patrons may enjoy a symbolic, though delicious lunch. It truly was chicken soup for the soul.
This beauty, created by a high school student now graces my dining room table.
Chelsea fell in love with this Taylor Swift tribute bowl, also made by a high-schooler.

Kudos to the many sponsors, supporters, volunteers, businesses and artists who make this wonderful event happen every year.
