Today is reveal day for the fabulous Petite Bead Box Swap hosted by Cassandra of My Artful Adventures. We each had three swap partners who shared their favorite colors so we could gather beads especially for them, including one focal piece. We also created a petite box for sending our special finds. So without further ado - the big reveal!
This gorgeous little box is from my partner, and hostess of the swap, Cassandra. So pretty! And isn't the vintage piece adorning the box stunning?
Sandy of SMN Designs really zeroed in on the autumn beads (I listed my preferences as cream, ivory, autumn colors and having no dislikes-I'm easy!) Very nice selection, including the elegant autumn box complete with beautiful tulle rosette!
Thespa of Vintiquities Workshop sent a particularly thoughtful and personalized gift. The vintage glass watch parts and vial belonged to her grandfather and contain antique rhinestones from a 1920's flapper dress. How cool is that? If you enlarge the picture you'll see she also sent some unique dragonfly beads and used letter beads (my initials) to embellish the one bottle. Truly a special gathering!
I made double decker boxes from small matchboxes for my wonderful swap partners. I covered them in cream floral scrapbook paper and decorated with vintage lace, mini pearls, fabric flowers and vintage focal pieces. I selected mostly vintage beads and tattered pearls but also chose paper beads from Bead For Life. Bead For Life is an organization that sells paper beads made with recycled paper by women in Uganda.
Purchasing these extraordinary beads and jewelry provides much needed income for food, medicine, schools and hope for the impoverished people of Africa.
A HUGE thank you to Thespa, Sandy and Cassandra for a perfect swap experience!
